TownHog is looking for a seasoned MS SQL Server DBA to provide production support for MS SQL Server in both 2005 and 2008 environments running on Windows Server 2003 and 2008 platforms. Providing support for transactional databases as well as reporting databases for both OLTP and OLAP environments.  Creating and monitoring backup processes and providing data recovery needs as required.   Performing installation, configuration, and memory management on new instances of SQL Server as well as on existing instances.   Researching and troubleshooting performance issues as well as general processing concerns.

Technical Requirements

•  5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server in a large scale, high transaction volume environment.
• Experience preforming backups, data recovery, replication and log shipping using LiteSpeed.
• Ability to install, administer, configure, troubleshoot, and performance tune MS SQL Server databases.
• Knowledge of data warehouse schemas and structures such as dimensional modeling.
• Understanding of networks and memory management including RAID, SAN, and NAS.
• SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 experience preferred, as well as Windows Sever 2003 and 2008.
• Experience working in a system environment requiring 24x7 uptime.
• Knowledgeable in T-SQL and .NET.
• Experience with SSAS.         
• Familiar ETL development
• Ability to code in C# / .NET highly preferred

• Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication and documentation skills 
• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and as a member of the production support team 
• Experience with Microsoft tools and technologies a big plus but not required
